Mental Health Services
DVCC provides free on-site trauma-focused therapeutic services for individuals who have been impacted by interpersonal violence and abuse. The mental health team is comprised of certified trauma-informed professionals who provide both individual and group therapeutic services. Through individual counseling, children ages 6-17 and adults are educated about the effects of abuse and post-trauma symptoms while learning about ways to heal, coping skills, and emotional regulation. The team primarily uses cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and TF-CBT to help clients develop new skills and process trauma. Therapy with play is utilized to meet the needs of children.
