Mental Health Services

DVCC provides free trauma-focused therapeutic services for individuals impacted by interpersonal violence and abuse.  The mental health team is comprised of certified trauma-informed/certified professionals who provide individual therapeutic services. Through individual counseling, adults are educated about the dynamics/effects of abuse and post-trauma symptoms while learning about ways to heal, coping skills, support, and emotional regulation. The team primarily uses interventions and modalities for trauma such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Ego State Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.  DVCC’s mental health program aims to assist clients with establishing safety and developing new skills in a supportive environment.
